Oral Answer

Singapore's Further Plans for COVID-19 Vaccination and Prevention of Surge in Community Cases Given New Virus Variants

Speakers

Summary

This question concerns Singapore’s COVID-19 vaccination strategies, border control measures against variants, and the management of imported cases to prevent community surges. Members of Parliament inquired about the status of the Sinovac vaccine, vaccine efficacy and safety, travel bans for high-risk countries, and the Vaccine Injury Financial Assistance Programme. They also raised points regarding quarantine requirements for business travellers, citizen vaccination rates, and specific strategies used to combat vaccine-related misinformation. Minister for Health Gan Kim Yong requested to address these nineteen oral questions and several written questions through Ministerial Statements scheduled for the following day's sitting. This consolidated response was intended to provide a comprehensive update on the government's multi-faceted approach to public health safety and vaccination protocols.
