Restricting Numbers in Group Gatherings at HDB Common Areas during Quiet Hours

69 Mr Gan Thiam Poh asked the Minister for Home Affairs whether the Police will consider restricting the number of people gathering in groups and causing congregational noise at HDB common greens during the quiet hours after 10.30 pm and before 7.00 am.

Mr K Shanmugam: The law sets out the circumstances when public gatherings require permit. In addition, the Police also take action when there are law and order issues. Where there are no law and order issues or where the gatherings do not require permit, the Police will generally not intervene or restrict such gatherings.
