Profile of Local Workers in Cleaning, Security and Landscape Sectors

18 Mr Leong Mun Wai asked the Minister for Manpower whether he can provide a breakdown of the number of local workers in the cleaning, security, and landscape sectors respectively, in terms of age groups of (i) below 40 years old (ii) between 40 to 63 years old and (iii) above 63 years old.

Dr Tan See Leng: In 2021, there were approximately 20,000 full-time resident cleaners, 17,000 full-time resident security officers and 1,900 full-time resident landscape maintenance employees in the cleaning, security and landscape sectors respectively. Table 1 breaks down the number of full-time resident cleaners, security officers and landscape maintenance employees in the cleaning, security and landscape sectors by age group.
