Plans for Installation of LED Rear Lamps on Vehicles, Similar to Case Now for LED Head Lamps

19 Ms Joan Pereira asked the Minister for Transport whether the Ministry will consider allowing vehicles to be fitted with LED rear lamps, similar to the case now for LED head lamps.

Mr S Iswaran: Today, LTA already allows LED rear lamps which comply with international safety standards to be installed on a vehicle. To ensure safety, these lamps need to be certified and endorsed by the vehicle manufacturer and installed according to the vehicle manufacturer's recommendation. These requirements are the same as those for LED head lamps.
