Open Market Value of Cars Registered under Categories A and B COEs

6 Mr Leong Mun Wai asked the Minister for Transport for each year since 2010 (a) what is the (i) median, (ii) 90th percentile and (iii) 99th percentile of the open market value of cars registered under Category A COEs; and (b) what is the (i) 1st percentile (ii) 10th percentile and (iii) median of open market value of cars registered under Category B COEs.

Mr S Iswaran: We do not track the data to this level of detail. As I shared in my Ministerial Statement on Meeting the Transport Needs of Singaporeans on 8 May 2023, the Category B median Open Market Value (OMV) has been about 75% higher than the Category A median OMV in recent years. Specifically, for the first quarter of 2023, the Category A median OMV was $25,525, and the Category B median OMV was $44,866.
