MRT Line to Connect Punggol, Sengkang, Fernvale, Buangkok, Yio Chu Kang, Nee Soon and Sembawang

2 Mr Gan Thiam Poh asked the Minister for Transport whether the Government will consider constructing an MRT line to connect the estates of Punggol, Sengkang, Fernvale, Buangkok, Yio Chu Kang, Nee Soon and Sembawang.

Mr Khaw Boon Wan: One of the MRT lines that the Government is currently studying is the Cross Island Line (CRL). If and when it is completed, CRL will, among other benefits, connect the estates in Punggol, Sengkang, Fernvale and Buangkok. In the meantime, commuter travel between the north and north-east regions is being supported by public buses.
