Frequency of Enforcement Actions against Drink-Driving

25 Mr Gan Thiam Poh asked the Minister for Home Affairs (a) how regular are enforcements against drink-driving undertaken each year; and (b) how many drivers have been caught for non-compliance since the last review of the relevant laws and penalties.

Mr K Shanmugam: The Police conducts roadblocks daily, in different locations. This is to deter and detect crimes, including drink-driving offences.

The Government last reviewed and enhanced the penalties for drink-driving offences in July 2019. The enhancements were brought into force in November 2019.
