Fire Incidents Caused By Over-charging of Personal Mobility Devices’ Batteries

102 Mr Lim Biow Chuan asked the Minister for Home Affairs over the last 12 months, how many fire incidents have been caused by the over-charging of personal mobility devices' (PMDs') batteries.

Mr K Shanmugam: Between April 2023 and March 2024, there were 18 fires that involved personal mobility devices (PMDs). The Singapore Civil Defence Force does not track, however, how many of such fires involve over-charging of PMD batteries.
