Effectiveness of Childcare Sick Leave Provision to Civil Servants

97 Mr Louis Ng Kok Kwang asked the Prime Minister and Minister for Finance whether his Ministry has conducted a study on the need for and effectiveness of the provision of childcare sick leave to civil servants.

Mr Chan Chun Sing (for the Prime Minister): The Civil Service regularly reviews its leave provisions to meet the needs of officers. The utilisation for childcare sick leave has remained steady at around 50% over the years and remains relevant for officers.
