34 Mr Louis Ng Kok Kwang asked the Minister for Social and Family Development in each year of the past five years, how many cases, where Care and Protection Orders have been ordered by the Youth Court, involve parents or guardians being ordered by the Youth Court to undergo counselling, psychotherapy or any other assessment, programme or treatment.
Mr Masagos Zulkifli B M M: Over the past five years, an annual average of 160 Care and Protection Orders (CPOs) included additional orders requiring parents or guardians to undergo mediation, counselling, psychotherapy or any other assessment, programme or treatment as determined by the Youth Court. This was about 97% of the annual average number of CPOs made in the past five years.
