Upgrading Ageing Bus Depots

69 Mr Melvin Yong Yik Chye asked the Minister for Transport (a) whether there are any plans to upgrade ageing bus depots, in particular, those built over 30 years ago; and (b) if yes, when will these be upgraded.

Mr Khaw Boon Wan: All the older bus depots are progressively being upgraded or replaced by new ones. In the last five years, we have built three new depots. In the next five years, we are planning to upgrade or build around five more. In deciding which depots to upgrade, the Land Transport Authority considers the age of the depot as well as other factors like site constraints and operational requirements.
