Update on Amendment to Protocol to the Convention on Limitation of Liability to Maritime Claims

32 Mr Dennis Tan Lip Fong asked the Minister for Transport whether he can provide an update as to when will the 2012 Amendment to the 1996 Protocol to the Convention on Limitation of Liability to Maritime Claims (LLMC) 1976 be introduced in the Merchant Shipping Act.

Mr Khaw Boon Wan: MPA will implement the 1996 Protocol in December this year, and with that raise the liability limits to the 2012 limits as required of all contracting states of the Protocol by updating the Schedule of the Merchant Shipping Act.
