37 Ms Joan Pereira asked the Minister for Health (a) what is the current percentage of doctors vaccinated with (i) mRNA COVID-19 vaccines and (ii) non-mRNA COVID-19 vaccines respectively; (b) what is the current percentage of other healthcare professionals vaccinated with (i) mRNA COVID-19 vaccines and (ii) non-mRNA COVID-19 vaccines respectively; and (c) how is the Ministry ensuring that those on the frontlines are vaccinated for their own safety as they encounter many patients who may have COVID-19.

Mr Ong Ye Kung: Within the public healthcare institutions1 (PHIs), approximately 99% of all staff were fully vaccinated2 with either mRNA or non-mRNA COVID-19 vaccines3 as of 22 October 2021. About 99% of doctors, dentists, nurses and pharmacists are vaccinated. About 98% of staff in all other groups are vaccinated (see Table 1).

Vaccination was prioritised for healthcare workers when the mRNA vaccines were first made available in Singapore. COVID-19 vaccine booster shots were also extended to the healthcare workers after first being introduced for the seniors.
