Tracking Number of Working Caregivers who Concurrently Care for Dependent Children and Elderly Parents

71 Ms Hazlina Abdul Halim asked the Minister for Manpower (a) whether the Ministry will consider tracking the number of working caregivers who concurrently care for both dependent children and elderly parents; and (b) if not, whether there are plans to collect and publish such data.
Dr Tan See Leng: The Ministry has begun tracking caregiving patterns, including the number of caregivers who concurrently care for children and parents. Based on our inaugural survey conducted in late 2025, around one in 10 working caregivers fall into this group.
The Ministry is studying the data and will release more detailed findings when ready.
