8 Mr Alex Yeo asked the Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs (a) what is the implementation status of the step-up measures that Carousell committed to by 31 January 2026 under the E-Commerce Code of the Online Criminal Harms Act 2023, given the increasing misuse of SingPass-verified Carousell accounts for e-commerce scams; and (b) whether the Ministry intends to implement any further measures to protect consumers from similar e-commerce scams.

Mr K Shanmugam: The Ministry of Home Affairs is assessing the effectiveness of the measures implemented by Carousell in preventing the misuse of SingPass-verified accounts and will provide an update when ready. We continue to monitor the scam situation on Carousell closely and will consider further measures if necessary.
