28 Mr Ong Hua Han asked the Minister for Social and Family Development (a) in each of the years from 2019 to 2023, what is the median age of persons with disabilities who have been successful in their Assistive Technology Fund (ATF) applications; and (b) whether the Ministry budgets for the ATF usage based on per capita monthly household income data.
Mr Masagos Zulkifli B M M: The Assistive Technology Fund (ATF) provides eligible persons with disabilities with a means-tested subsidy of up to 90% of the cost of the required equipment, subject to a lifetime cap of $40,000. The median age of successful ATF applicants from 2019 to 2023, ranged from 51 to 58 years old.
We will continue to help persons with disabilities with genuine needs access assistive devices.
