Speakers

73 Mr Chua Kheng Wee Louis asked the Minister for Transport (a) what are the countries and the number of countries that Singapore is pursuing Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTLs) with; (b) what are the considerations and factors used to determine these countries; and (c) what are the factors and threshold levels used for the expansion or suspension of active VTLs once they are introduced.

Mr S Iswaran: The Government is taking a careful and calibrated approach in re-opening our borders. We consider various public health and operational risk factors to determine which countries or regions to establish Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTLs) with.

We commenced our first VTLs with Germany and Brunei last month, and MOT is actively working on expanding the VTL scheme to more countries and will announce the details when ready.

We will adjust the VTL protocols if necessary as the COVID-19 situation in Singapore and overseas evolves.
