Salary Review of Polytechnic and ITE Educators
Ministry of EducationSpeakers
Transcript
20 Dr Wan Rizal asked the Minister for Education (a) whether a salary review of Polytechnic and ITE educators will be conducted; and (b) if so, whether the review will include considering the competitive job market that may impede recruitment of experienced talent and the salary of adjunct lecturers and project staff of Polytechnics and ITEs.
Mr Chan Chun Sing: We value the contributions of all Polytechnic and Institute of Technical Education (ITE) staff, including adjunct lecturers and project staff. The Polytechnics and ITE jointly review the salaries of staff periodically to ensure that salaries remain competitive against market benchmarks.
Currently, a study on the competitiveness of the existing salary schemes for academic and non-academic staff, including adjuncts, is underway. The outcomes will be shared with staff when the review is completed.
