Transcript

59 Assoc Prof Jamus Jerome Lim asked the Minister for Manpower (a) when is the last time the Government reviewed its position on the number of public holidays in Singapore; and (b) whether the Government is amenable to review its position at the present time.

Dr Tan See Leng: The current configuration of public holidays in Singapore has been in place since 1968. Our calendar of public holidays reflects our multi-religious and multicultural society. This approach has served us well.
