Reconstruction of Novena Pedestrian Underpasses

Speakers

Transcript

31 Mr Melvin Yong Yik Chye asked the Minister for Transport (a) what are the options to reconstruct the two Novena pedestrian underpasses as part of the North-South Corridor project given that the existing underpasses are set to be demolished; and (b) whether the Ministry will consider improving the reconstructed underpasses or linkways to make it more user-friendly to the elderly, disabled and parents with strollers.

Mr Khaw Boon Wan: The existing two underpasses connect Goldhill Centre to Novena Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Station, and Revenue House to Novena Square respectively. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will be reconstructing them to connect all four locations. This will be an improvement over today’s situation. LTA will also be installing lifts at the entrances and exits of the reconstructed underpasses.
