Proportion of Emissions from Refining and Petrochemical Sector Subject to Carbon Tax Rebates and Carbon Tax Paid

3 Ms Hazel Poa asked the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry (a) what proportion of emissions from the refining and petrochemical sector is subject to carbon tax rebates in 2024; and (b) what is the effective carbon tax paid per ton of carbon emissions, after rebates, by the refining and petrochemical sector in 2024.

Mr Gan Kim Yong: The Government will release aggregated information on carbon tax allowances in due course, bearing in mind the need to preserve commercial sensitivities.
