Possibility of Reviewing Industry Transformation Maps to Ensure Consistency with COP28 Outcomes

6 Mr Louis Ng Kok Kwang asked the Minister for Trade and Industry whether the Government will conduct a review of the Industry Transformation Maps to ensure that they are consistent with the outcomes of the 2023 UN Climate Change Conference (COP28), including but not limited to transitioning away from fossil fuels, tripling renewable energy capacity, doubling rate of energy efficiency and cutting methane emissions.

Mr Gan Kim Yong: Most of the 23 Industry Transformation Maps (ITMs) have been refreshed over the last two years. Their strategies and plans are consistent with our international commitments on sustainability, and our national ambitions to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
