42 Mr Darryl David asked the Minister for Education (a) in the past three years, what is the percentage of students in each annual cohort at Government schools and institutions who attain the International Baccalaureate diploma; and (b) whether there are plans to have more places allocated to students who are keen to take the International Baccalaureate diploma programme.

Mr Chan Chun Sing: Over the past three years, around 7% of each Pre-University 1 student cohort took the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

There are currently no plans to allocate more places to the IBDP, as the GCE "A" Level programme remains relevant as a national curriculum. We will continue to review this regularly.
