Number of Singles Who Have Bought HDB Resale Flats

16 Mr Gan Thiam Poh asked the Minister for National Development in each of the past five years, what is the number of singles who bought HDB resale flats, broken down by type of flats.

The Second Minister for National Development (Ms Indranee Rajah) (for the Minister for National Development): Mr Speaker, in the past five years, from 2015 to 2019, out of an average of around 22,000 transactions of resale flats per year, about 6,000 resale flats per year were bought by singles under the Single Singapore Citizen Scheme or the Joint Singles Scheme. Of these, about 46% were 3-room or smaller flats, 39% were 4-room flats and 15% were 5-room or bigger flats.
