More Training Opportunities in Artificial Intelligence for Singaporean PMETs to Strengthen Overall Competitive Position

8 Mr Gan Thiam Poh asked the Minister for Digital Development and Information whether the Ministry will consider providing more training to Singaporean professionals, managers, executives and technicians (PMETs) so as to increase the pool of PMETS who have capabilities in artificial intelligence and to strengthen our competitive position.
The Senior Minister of State for Digital Development and Information (Mr Tan Kiat How) (for the Minister for Digital Development and Information): The Government's approach for training our workers, including professionals, managers, executives and technicians in artificial intelligence was laid out in the Ministry of Digital Development and Information's (MDDI's) responses to similar Parliamentary Questions filed by Members of Parliament Gerald Giam and Ang Wei Neng, which were published in the Hansard for the 9 January 2024 and 13 November 2024 Parliament Sittings respectively.
