More Community Space for Dog Parks

Speakers

Transcript

22 Mr Lim Biow Chuan asked the Minister for National Development whether NParks can set aside more community space for dog runs or dog parks.

Mr Desmond Lee: Today, there are 32 public dog runs in the National Parks Board- (NParks)-managed parks islandwide, such as at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, East Coast Park, Choa Chu Kang Park and Jurong Lake Gardens. Beyond parkland, there are also dog runs in residential estates which are managed by other entities, such as the People's Association and Town Councils.

In order to best utilise the limited space within parks, NParks considers the various needs of park users and local residents when deciding on new park amenities, such as dog runs.
