Major Infrastructure Projects that May Be Postponed or Cancelled

74 Mr Seah Kian Peng asked the Minister for National Development whether he can provide an update on the state of major infrastructure projects, specifically the ones that will be postponed or cancelled, if any, given the current economic restructuring that Singapore is going through.

Mr Desmond Lee: The current economic situation underscores the need to press on with our economic transformation efforts, so that our firms and workers can emerge stronger, and seize new opportunities following this challenging period. Government agencies responsible for the various economic sector are working closely with their industry partners to review their plans, including for major infrastructure projects. While some infrastructure projects such as the construction of Changi Airport Terminal 5 have been delayed as a result of COVID-19, the Government remains committed to infrastructure projects that are critical investments for future generations.
