Links between Money Laundering, Corruption and Fraud and Illegal Wildlife Trade Occurring in or Connected to Singapore

7 Mr Louis Ng Kok Kwang asked the Minister for National Development (a) whether the Ministry has found links between money laundering, corruption and fraud, and the illegal wildlife trade occurring in or connected to Singapore; and (b) if so, whether the Ministry will consider implementing an independent framework or task force to further study these links.

Mr Desmond Lee: We have not found links between money laundering, corruption and fraud in Singapore, and the illegal wildlife trade occurring in or connected to Singapore.

Agencies will continue to maintain Singapore's vigilance against the illegal wildlife trade, including against money laundering, corruption and fraud related to this trade.
