Increasing Day Activity Centre Subsidies for Single-income Households

Speakers

Transcript

34 Mr Christopher de Souza asked the Minister for Social and Family Development whether Day Activity Centre subsidies can be increased for single-income households.

Mr Masagos Zulkifli B M M: Subsidies for Day Activity Centres (DACs) are means-tested based on clients' per capita household income. They are progressive, to ensure that more subsidies are directed to the lower-income.

More families can also look forward to increased subsidies for long-term care services from July 2026, announced in the Ministry of Social and Family Development's Committee of Supply earlier this year.

Where possible, DAC operators may also provide further financial support to help families in financial need.
