Increase in Accidents Involving Private Hire Cars

31 Mr Ong Teng Koon asked the Minister for Transport whether accidents involving private hire drivers have increased more than proportionately to the number of private hire drivers.

Mr Khaw Boon Wan: It has not. Over the last two years, the number of private hire cars has tripled. The number of accidents involving such cars has similarly increased by about three times.
