Ministry of Home AffairsSpeakers
Transcript
39 Assoc Prof Terence Ho asked the Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs (a) whether clearer guidelines or parameters are needed on when activities such as dancing are permissible in public or publicly accessible spaces; and (b) what can the Government do to mitigate disamenity to the public arising from such activities without stifling vibrancy in public spaces.
Mr K Shanmugam: Informal activities, such as dancing, are generally permissible in public spaces if they do not obstruct other members of the public or cause a nuisance. The Police will only intervene if there are law and order concerns.
