30 Ms Carrie Tan asked the Minister for Health on a monthly and annual basis, how much does the Government spend on each elderly person who is cared for in nursing homes or other residential care facilities including salaries for staff, hygiene consumables and other paraphernalia related to care costs.

Mr Ong Ye Kung: In 2020, the Government provided around S$349 million in subsidies to 13,850 nursing home residents for nursing home services. This translates to an average of S$2,100 monthly or S$25,200 annually spent on each subsidised nursing home resident.
