1 Assoc Prof Jamus Jerome Lim asked the Prime Minister whether prisoners serving a sentence of less than 12 months are entitled to vote in the General Elections and Presidential Elections.
Mr Chan Chun Sing (for the Prime Minister): Persons serving a sentence of less than 12 months in prison are unable to vote in elections as it is currently not feasible for voting facilities to be provided to persons detained in prisons due to safety, security and operational concerns.
