Enable Families Holding Funeral Wakes to Serve Catered Food and Drinks to Visitors

12 Ms Sylvia Lim asked the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment in view of the continuing recalibration and relaxation of the COVID-19 control measures, whether the Government will enable families holding funeral wakes to serve catered food and drinks to visitors.

Ms Grace Fu Hai Yien: Funeral events are not subjected to Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures to allow families and loved ones to pay their last respects, regardless of their vaccination status. To mitigate the risks of transmission of COVID-19 to unvaccinated attendees, the serving and consumption of food and beverages remain prohibited at funeral events. We will continue to monitor the situation and review this position moving forward.
