Ministry of HealthSpeakers
Transcript
93 Miss Cheng Li Hui asked the Minister for Health with regard to reducing cigarette smoking prevalence (a) how effective has the introduction of plain packaging and enlarged graphic health warnings been; and (b) whether the Ministry will consider additional measures, such as further increasing the excise duty for tobacco products or introducing a lifetime ban on cigarette sale to young persons below a certain age, similar to New Zealand’s plan to introduce legislation to eliminate smoking for the next generation.
Mr Ong Ye Kung: This question will be answered by my reply to Dr Lim Wee Kiak and Mr Louis Ng Kok Kwang for the next Sitting.
