Decrease in Number of PEP Holders after Increase in Minimum Fixed Monthly Salary Threshold

29 Mr Patrick Tay Teck Guan asked the Minister for Manpower (a) whether the number of Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) holders has decreased since the minimum fixed monthly salary eligibility threshold was raised to $22,500 from 1 September 2023; and (b) if so, by how many.

Dr Tan See Leng: The number of Personalised Employment Passes (PEP) applications approved in the past 12 months has decreased by about half, from 3,200 over September 2022 to August 2023, to 1,400 over September 2023 to August 2024.
