Data Collection of PwDs' Health Outcomes, Inter-agency Sharing and Setting Targets to Close Gaps

40 Dr Haresh Singaraju asked the Minister for Social and Family Development in view of evidence that persons with disabilities (PwDs) have lower preventive screening uptake and higher rates of preventable chronic conditions than the general population (a) whether the Ministry collects data on PwDs' health outcomes; (b) if so, how is such data shared within the Government to inform interventions; and (c) what health outcome targets have been set to close these gaps.

Mr Masagos Zulkifli B M M: The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social and Family Development will analyse the health outcomes of persons with disabilities (PwDs) to see if more targeted interventions are required. Thus far, we have not determined in our local data that PwDs have lower screening uptake or higher rates of preventable chronic conditions.
