Bullying Cases Reported in Primary and Secondary Schools in Past Three Years

90 Mr Melvin Yong Yik Chye asked the Minister for Education (a) in 2021 and 2022 to date, what is the number of bullying cases reported in primary and secondary schools respectively; and (b) whether the number of bullying cases reported at these schools has risen compared to before 2021.
Mr Chan Chun Sing: MOE takes a serious view of bullying and works with schools to send a clear message to all students that hurtful behaviour has no place in our schools.
The number of bullying incidents reported to schools remains low and stable, at about two incidents per 1000 primary students and five incidents per 1000 secondary students in the past five years.
