Breakdown of Dependant's Pass Holders Gaining Employment Since 1 May 2021

42 Ms He Ting Ru asked the Minister for Manpower in view that Dependant's Pass (DP) holders have been required to secure applicable work passes in order to work in Singapore since 1 May 2021, what is the breakdown by the number of DP holders who (i) have gained employment and (ii) are unemployed.

Dr Tan See Leng: In May 2021, Dependant's Pass (DP) holders who were working on a Letter of Consent (LOC) constituted about 1% of all work pass holders.

As at September 2023, DP holders who have obtained a work pass continue to constitute around 1% of all work pass holders in Singapore.
