Alleged Offences under Protection from Harassment Act and Protection Orders Granted

6 Mr Liang Eng Hwa asked the Minister for Home Affairs in the last three years (a) how many complaints has the Ministry received for alleged offences under the Protection from Harassment Act; (b) how many protection orders have been granted; and (c) arising from these protection orders, how many are prosecuted and charged.

Mr K Shanmugam: Between 2021 and 2023, there were a total of 69,795 Police reports of alleged offences under section 3 to section 7 of the Protection from Harassment Act 2014; 498 Protection Orders were issued by the Courts; and 10 persons were prosecuted for contravening the conditions of their Protection Orders.
