Advisory to Owners of E-scooters Which Do Not Conform to LTA's Regulations

8 Mr Muhamad Faisal Bin Abdul Manap asked the Minister for Transport (a) whether there is any advisory on what should be done by the owner of an e-scooter that does not conform to LTA's regulations, such as its method of disposal; and (b) if there is no such advisory, whether LTA will consider to produce such an advisory.

Mr Khaw Boon Wan: All personal mobility devices (PMDs), including e-scooters, that are used on public paths cannot exceed 20kg in maximum unladen weight, 700mm in maximum width and 25km/h in maximum device speed.

Persons with non-compliant devices may wish to approach retailers to check if these devices can be modified to become compliant, or traded in for compliant devices. Persons who wish to recycle their devices may contact e-waste or metal recyclers for assistance.
