The Government Whip (Mr Chan Chun Sing): Mr Speaker, I beg to move, "That, notwithstanding the Standing Orders, the Motion on Ageing with Purpose and the Motion on Support for Care-givers, appearing on today's Order Paper, be taken jointly and the debate on these motions be proceeded with simultaneously as though the debate were on a single Motion".

Mr Speaker, as the subject matter on these two Motions listed as items 6 and 7 on today's Order Paper are inter-related and the issues are interdependent, this business Motion will allow Members to speak on both Motions at the same time and address all concerns in a single speech. Members can put forth their views over the full range of issues and debate in a more holistic manner. It will also allow the Ministers to give comprehensive replies in a single speech, taking into account the closely connected issues. At the end of the debate, Members will be able to vote on the two Motions separately. Mr Speaker, Sir, I beg to move.

Question put, and agreed to.
