The following statements were made in the reply given by the Minister of State for Manpower (Dinesh Vasu Dash) during the debate on the Motion “An Economy of the Future for All” at the Sitting of 5 August 2026:
The Minister of State for Manpower (Mr Dinesh Vasu Dash): Mr Speaker, it is not the first time that we are raising issues of legislation of retrenchment benefits. We have considered it in the past. It was not very appropriate then. We studied it periodically. As the Member knows, with the Tripartite Guidelines, at least nine and 10 workers are compensated, as was highlighted. [Please refer to "An Economy of the Future that Works for All", Official Report, 5 August 2026, Vol 96, Issue 34, Motions section.]
Written statement by Mr Dinesh Vasu Dash circulated with the leave of the Speaker, in accordance with Standing Order No 29(5).
I wish to make the following factual corrections to my reply given at the Sitting of 5 August 2026. My reply should read as follows:
The Minister of State for Manpower (Mr Dinesh Vasu Dash): Mr Speaker, it is not the first time that we are raising issues of legislation of retrenchment benefits. We have considered it in the past. It was not very appropriate then. We studied it periodically. As the Member knows, with the Tripartite Advisory, around nine in 10 workers are compensated, as was highlighted.
