25 Mr Png Eng Huat asked the Minister for National Development as a percentage of the land area of Singapore, what is the total area used respectively for (i) public housing (ii) private housing (iii) industrial land and (iv) parks, nature reserves and water catchment.
Mr Lawrence Wong: Of the total land area of Singapore, approximately (i) 8% is used for public housing; (ii) 7% is used for private housing, largely in areas zoned for low-rise and low-density land use; (iii) 13% is used for industry; and (iv) 14% is used for parks, nature reserves, nature areas and waterbodies.
