Third Dose of mRNA COVID-19 Vaccine for Those Who are Moderately to Severely Immunocompromised

46 Dr Tan Wu Meng asked the Minister for Health what is the Ministry’s assessment of the recommendation by the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention made on 13 August 2021 that people who are moderately to severely immunocompromised should receive an additional dose of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine after the initial two doses.
Mr Ong Ye Kung: As the Member is aware, MOH has agreed with the EC19V’s recommendation to administer a third dose of COVID-19 vaccines to individuals who are immunocompromised. This will start after 14 September in Vaccination Centres, as well as hospitals and Specialist Outpatient Clinics which provide COVID-19 vaccination under the national vaccination programme.
