30 Mr Christopher de Souza asked the Minister for Health (a) whether there has been an increase in cases of e-vaporisers being smuggled into Singapore over the past three years; and (b) how are the relevant agencies strengthening cooperation with overseas counterparts to disrupt the supply chains of e-vaporiser devices.

Mr Ong Ye Kung: The number of smuggling cases involving e-vaporisers has dropped from 152 cases in 2022 to 67 in 2024.

E-vaporisers are legal in our neighboring countries, hence the scope for cross-border collaboration on enforcement is more limited. The Health Sciences Authority will continue to work closely with the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority to step up our enforcement checks to detect and deter the smuggling of e-vaporisers into Singapore at the checkpoints to disrupt the supply chain.
