Ministry of EducationSpeakers
Transcript
23 Assoc Prof Terence Ho asked the Minister for Education (a) what proportion of SkillsFuture Credit utilised in each of the past two years was spent on online subscription-based learning packages; and (b) whether the Ministry tracks the subsequent utilisation of these subscriptions by such learners.
Mr Desmond Lee: From 2024 to 2025, around 17% of SkillsFuture Credit (Base-Tier) claims were for online subscription-based learning packages. The subscriptions are generally valid for a period of up to one year and learners can access the content at their own pace. SkillsFuture Singapore is in discussion with the online learning providers, on the sharing of information regarding subscribers' usage patterns, to better understand their interests and learning needs.
The SkillsFuture Credit is one way that we support Singaporeans in their lifelong learning journey. We encourage individuals to take ownership of their skills development, and to plan and decide how they can use their SkillsFuture Credit meaningfully.
