Singapore's Response to Situation in Sudan

21 Mr Alex Yam Ziming asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs in view of the situation in Sudan (a) whether there are any Singaporeans known to be in Sudan; and (b) what is being done to provide them with assistance to evacuate from the outbreak of civil war in the country.
Dr Vivian Balakrishnan: There are currently no MFA-registered Singaporeans in Sudan. As conveyed in MFA Spokesperson’s Comments of 27 April 2023, two Singaporean families, comprising 14 Singaporeans and a family member, were safely evacuated from Khartoum, Sudan to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with assistance from the governments of Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The Singapore Government reiterates its deepest appreciation to the three governments for facilitating the safe evacuation of our citizens.
