Review Timeline and Status Updates of Extension of Smoking Restrictions to Rooftop Gardens on Multi-storey Car Parks at HDB Estates

27 Mr Alex Yeo asked the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment (a) what is the status of the Ministry's ongoing review of smoking prohibition regulations in respect of rooftop gardens above multi-storey car parks within HDB estates; and (b) whether the Ministry has set a timeline for such review, since such spaces increasingly serve as community recreational areas.

Ms Grace Fu Hai Yien: Smoking is currently not prohibited in open‑air rooftops of multi-storey carparks. Nonetheless, we recognise that such spaces are increasingly being used as communal recreational areas, such as rooftop gardens, and will consider the Member's suggestion.
