Proposal to Publish Real-time Train Arrival Data on LTA DataMall

57 Mr Low Wu Yang Andre asked the Acting Minister for Transport (a) whether the Land Transport Authority (LTA) will consider publishing real-time train arrival data on the LTA DataMall similar to the existing bus arrival API; (b) if so, what is the implementation timeline; and (c) if not, what are the specific technical or security impediments preventing the release of this data for public scrutiny.

Mr Jeffrey Siow: The Land Transport Authority does not provide real-time train arrival data online as intervals between train arrivals are short and next train arrivals are adequately communicated to commuters at all train stations.
